SRS is co-founded by the late Prof. Dr. Ernest Cyril de Run and Prof. Dr. Hiram Ting. Committee members are nominated and appointed to run the society. Their expertise and commitment ensure that the Society’s mission, objectives and activities are administered as a team with integrity and professionalism.

Mission Statement

SRS is committed to research that advances knowledge and makes practical contribution to academic, industry and community. SRS aims to provide academics, researchers, students and practitioners a platform to interact, co-create value and move forward. It also aims to afford budding researchers opportunities to network with academics and practitioners in their areas. SRS seeks to improve the quality of research in Sarawak and the associated regions and create an avenue for inter-disciplinary studies so as to bring together researchers and practitioners from various disciplines and industries for the betterment of the society.

Objectives

  1. To foster research collaboration and promote members’ research development.
  2. To provide support to academics and research students in pursuing research excellence.
  3. To advance knowledge in academia and mobilize research into practice with real impact.
  4. To disseminate research findings and ensure that research results and implications are available in formats that will make a significant contribution to the industry and community concerned.

We prioritize collective effort and make joint decision as a unit regardless of our positions in the society and our professions. We maintain openness, professionalism and uprightness to the best of our ability to demonstrate our commitment to our members, and the public at large in enhancing research culture and development in Sarawak and beyond.
